UEFA Champions League Matchday 6: Analysis and Predictions

|

Matchday 6 of the UEFA Champions League returns this Tuesday 10 and Wednesday 11 December, with very attractive matches that mark the beginning of the closing of the league phase, which has left surprises and promises an exciting start to this new competition format. Below, we present a detailed analysis of the most important matches and our predictions.

Atalanta vs. Real Madrid

Real Madrid has not had its best performance in this Champions League. After five rounds, the Merengue team has accumulated 2 wins and 3 defeats, with 6 points, 9 goals for and 9 against, placing in the last position (24) of the playoff classification.

Kylian Mbappé is not finding his best form and Ancelotti continues to test him in different positions in order to fit all his offensive arsenal where Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo Goes, Arda Guler, Brahim Diaz and the promising young Endrick should also shine.

In this chess game, several matches have also taken their toll on the Merengue squad, losing to Athletic Club, Liverpool, Barcelona and Milan, which has put additional pressure on the team.

On the other hand, Atalanta are in fifth place with 11 points and are looking to secure direct qualification. They are in excellent form after beating Milan, Roma, Young Boys and Parma. Their only recent defeat was against Como on September 24, which keeps them at the top of Serie A.

Forecast: Real Madrid slight favorite with odds of +155, Atalanta +165 and the draw is priced at +270

Borussia Dortmund vs. Barcelona

Barcelona will visit the Signal Iduna Park in a key match for their aspirations. Currently, the Culés are in third place in the overall standings, 3 points behind Liverpool and 2 points behind Internazionale.

They have won 4 of their last 5 Champions League games and in the local league they are leaders with 38 points. However, of their last 5 games they have lost 2, drawn 2 and only recorded 1 win. Everything indicates that they are going through a slump that could tilt in their favor or further complicate their path.

Dortmund have had a competitive Champions League campaign, but an inconsistent Bundesliga campaign. They rank fourth out of 36 participants in the continental tournament, but sixth in the domestic league, 12 points behind leaders Bayern Munich, which makes them a question mark.

Forecast: Barcelona is the favorite with +113 and +220 for Borussia Dortmund. The draw is at +285.

Juventus vs. Manchester City

This duel of giants pits two teams going through difficult times. Juventus has accumulated 4 consecutive draws and only one victory in its last 6 games. Manchester City, on the other hand, has lost the lead in the Premier League due to a string of defeats and is in fourth place with 27 points, 8 points behind the leader.

However, Pep Guardiola seems to have stopped the bad streak after beating Nottingham Forest and drawing with Crystal Palace, so the match against Juventus looks like a good opportunity to raise their heads and get back to winning ways.

Currently in the Champions League, both are in playoff qualification positions with Juventus in 19th place and City in 17th place, both with 8 points, two wins, one loss and one draw in the last 5 games.

Forecast: The favorite is City with odds of +105, +250 the draw in second place and in third place the Juventus win at +265.

Arsenal vs. Monaco

Finally, another of the day's attractive matches will be played at the Emirates Stadium when English side Arsenal host AS Monaco.

The French team started the Champions League by beating Barcelona and since then has maintained a good pace in the competition, winning 3 of its last 5 matches and ranking 8th, one place below Arsenal, both with 10 points.

Arsenal, for their part, continue to excel in both the Champions League and the Premier League. However, they have had to cope with some serious losses that have put them on the ropes, as in their most recent draw against Fulham or their defeat against Inter.

Forecast: The big favorite is Arsenal with odds of -309 for +460 the draw and in last place the victory of AS Monaco with +850.

Remember that the lines are dynamic and can change.

Get ready to experience the excitement of the Champions League and enjoy the final stretch of this phase!
