Mariners' Early Attack Leaves Red Sox Unanswered

|

The Seattle Mariners took advantage of their first at-bats and mercilessly punished Garrett Crochet, star star starter for the Boston Red Sox. With four runs in the first two innings, they set the course of the game and sealed a valuable 4-3 victory to take the three-game series. On an afternoon where pitching was key, Bryan Woo looked dominant from the mound and the Seattle bats did just enough work to hold the lead until the last out.

The result leaves the Mariners with a positive streak of 10 wins in their last 13 games, while Boston continues to lack consistency in important moments. The duel had emotion, good hitting and a tight closing that kept the fans on the edge of their seats.

Garrett Crochet Suffers Early On

It was not the best day for Garrett Crochet. The Red Sox left-hander, who had been putting up good numbers and a dominant presence in his last few starts, was unable to contain Seattle's bats in the first half of the game. In just five innings of work, he allowed five hits and gave up five tickets, in addition to a balk that contributed to the pressure against him.

The first inning was a direct hit. Crochet allowed the bases to be loaded with no outs, and then came a double by Mitch Garver that pushed two runs on the scoreboard. The damage continued in the second inning, when the Mariners added two more runs thanks to a sacrifice fly by Dylan Moore and a run-producing roller by Dominican Julio Rodriguez. Although Boston's starter managed to complete five innings and struck out nine opponents, the damage had already been done.

The situation was frustrating for Crochet, who could not find consistency or the strike zone with regularity. Despite the strikeouts, tickets and mental errors betrayed him at key moments. With this performance, his record falls to 2-2 on the season.

Bryan Woo Delivers a Solid Opening

While the Red Sox starter struggled, Bryan Woo did just the opposite. The Mariners righty dominated for six innings, where he allowed only three hits and two runs. He struck out eight and gave up just one walk, showing control and confidence with every pitch.

Woo allowed one run in the first half of the game, but never missed a beat or let himself be pressured. His work was key to sustain the early lead his teammates had given him. With this outing, he improves his record to 3-1 and continues to consolidate himself as an important piece in Seattle's rotation.

His dominance over Boston's hitters was especially noticeable in the middle part of the game, where he retired several innings without complications. Even when the Red Sox tried to put on pressure, Woo was able to get out of trouble with well-placed and decisive pitching. His effort set the stage for the bullpen to take care of the rest without much trouble.

Accurate Offensive Production & Strong Defensive Play

Although Seattle did not score again after the second episode, the four early points were enough to make a difference. Leo Rivas and J.P. Crawford contributed with the bat, each with a pair of hits to help keep the pressure on. Randy Arozarena also contributed from the field by getting three tickets, which kept traffic on the bases.

For Boston, Alex Bregman tried to respond with two hits, one of them a solo home run. In the eighth inning, Carlos Narváez brought his team closer with another home run by the Pesky Pole, leaving the score 4-3 and sowing some tension in the atmosphere. However, the Seattle reliever did not allow any more damage.

In the ninth inning, Mexico's Andres Muñoz took care of the closing with firmness. He retired all three batters and sealed the game with a strikeout that even blew Kristian Campbell's bat, an image that portrayed the frustration of the home team. Muñoz thus added his ninth save of the season, consolidating his position as a key figure in the final stretch of games.

Mariners Gain Confidence And Aim High

With this victory, Seattle takes the series and confirms their good momentum. The combination of effective pitching, timely offense and attentive defense allows them to compete seriously. They have been able to take advantage of their opportunities and respond well against good pitchers, as they demonstrated against Crochet.

On the other hand, the Red Sox will have to adjust their rotation and look for more consistency. Despite having talent in the lineup, lack of concentration in important moments continues to cost them close games. The team needs to find answers quickly if they want to stay in the fight in their division.

Seattle, for its part, is getting stronger and proving that it can compete with anyone. With victories like this one, confidence grows and the goal of reaching the postseason seems more and more possible.
