The 2024-25 Serie A season has kicked off with a bang, and this weekend could mark a clear difference between the title contenders and those who will act as the sidekicks of the Scudetto contenders.
During this weekend, fans of this tournament will be able to enjoy the usual ten matches, but among them there are three that will attract the most attention among those who call themselves "Calcio" fans.
The first of these matches will be between two teams in blue and black: Inter and Atalanta. The defending champions are undefeated after two games, but have not been as convincing as last year. That is why Simone Inzaghi's side will be looking to show muscle against Atalanta, a team that has already lost one game this season and has not enjoyed much luck against the reigning monarchs. Inter come into this match as overwhelming favorites, particularly as they boast a twelve-game unbeaten streak against Atalanta, seven of which have ended in victory.
The second match that no one should miss is Lazio vs Milan. The team from the Italian capital had a promising start, but ended up losing in their second match against Udinese. On the other side of the field is Milan, a team that has not been able to win in the tournament and on which there is great pressure given the recent success of their city rivals. The Rossoneri are the favorites, having won three in a row against Lazio and kept a clean sheet. Given the momentum of both teams, betting on a draw is not a bad idea, however, the winner's line favors Milan by a narrow margin.
Finally, Juventus will defend the first place they currently hold at home against a very familiar opponent: Roma. The team led by Thiago Motta is the only one in the tournament to have won both matches, and if that were not enough, they have done so without conceding goals. Meanwhile, Roma have just one point from two games, and the image they left at home after losing to Empoli is not exactly what their fans want to see. Last year, the Bianconeri did not lose either of their two matches against Roma, and considering the start of the season of both teams, it is not at all strange to see the "Vecchia Signora" jumping out as favorites for this match.
This is the list of matches that make up Day 3 in Serie A.
