European Club Transfer Rumors

|

The January transfer window may be closed in Europe, but teams are looking ahead to the summer so speculation abounds. Here are the latest details.

Giménez to England

Newcastle United have targeted Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez as a potential summer signing, according to the latest rumors. The 21-year-old Mexican star has impressed in his debut season in the Eredivisie, scoring eight goals in his last ten appearances and, as a result, attracting attention across Europe.

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe is believed to be in the market for a striker in the summer as he looks to bring a prolific goalscorer to St. James Park next season, with the Magpies targeting a Premier League title challenge.

Ramos Generates Speculation

Arsenal are monitoring the situation of Benfica striker Gonçalo Ramos amid interest from Europe's top clubs. Ramos has produced 25 goals in all competitions this season. The 21-year-old also impressed at the World Cup with Portugal. It is understood that Arsenal are not the only team in the market for Ramos, as Manchester United, Newcastle, Real Madrid, PSG and Internazionale are all interested.

Barcelona and Bayern Join Forces

Barcelona and Bayern Munich have joined Manchester United in holding meetings with the agent of Bayer Leverkusen defender Jeremie Frimpong, according to the latest rumors. United are believed to be desperate for a long-term option at right-back as Aaron Wan-Bissaka's future at the club is unclear.

Romano indicates that cash-strapped Barcelona are unsure if a deal can be reached. The Catalan giants are under pressure to comply with La Liga's financial fair play rules, while Bayern will decide on Joao Cancelo's future in May.

Possible Meeting at Barcelona

Lionel Messi and Bernardo Silva are on Barcelona's radar for the summer as coach Xavi Hernandez looks for attacking reinforcements to compete in Europe. The report reveals that the La Liga giants will attempt to sign at least one of the pair in the summer, as they look to add valuable experience to a young squad.

The club has admitted to holding talks with Messi, while Silva could leave Manchester City this summer. However, they are likely to demand a hefty fee with the Portugal international under contract at the Etihad until 2025.

Done Deal

AC Milan and Rafael Leao have reached a verbal agreement on a new contract for the striker. The 24-year-old has established himself as a key player at the San Siro, scoring 11 goals and ten assists this season and, despite rumors linking the Portuguese international away from Milan, it appears he will stay.

The report suggests that Leao will become one of the club's highest earners with a salary of €5 million per year. At the same time, the Italian club will also pay a €19 million fine to Sporting CP after the player unilaterally terminated his contract with the club in 2018.
