Eagles Take On The Seahawks

|

A pair of NFC teams trying to right their respective ships closes out Week 15 of the NFL on the field in the Pacific Northwest.

The Philadelphia Eagles are visiting as they make the trip to face the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football.

Philadelphia was defeated 33-13 on the road by the Dallas Cowboys in their previous meeting Sunday night. Seattle was also defeated 28-16 on the road by the San Francisco 49ers in their previous meeting last Sunday.

Eagles Look to Return to Victory

Philadelphia lost its second consecutive one-sided game by getting pummeled by the Cowboys on the road on Sunday Night Football.

The Eagles fell to 10-3 with the loss and moved into a tie for the NFC East lead, although the Cowboys hold the top spot due to a better divisional record entering this week's action.

Against Dallas, Philadelphia took an early hit and never recovered as they completed their rout.

The Eagles were behind 10-0 after the first quarter and 24-6 at halftime. Philadelphia did not score an offensive touchdown and never got closer than 11 in the second half.

The Eagles were outgained in total yards 394-324, gave up 24 first downs while gaining 17. They also turned the ball over three times while recording only one takeaway, although it was a fumble recovery touchdown.

On the year, the Eagles rank 13th in the league in aerial offense, averaging 234.3 yards per game, and eighth in ground offense with 124.5 yards per game.

Philadelphia ranks sixth in the league in scoring offense at 26.3 points per game, while ranking 28th in the league in scoring defense, allowing 24.7 points per game.

Jalen Hurts has completed 286 of 430 passes for 3,192 yards with 19 touchdowns and 10 interceptions, suffering 33 catches. He ranks second on the team on the ground with 126 carries for 460 yards and 12 touchdowns.

D'Andre Swift leads the team on the ground with 178 carries for 822 yards and four touchdowns on the season. He is followed by Boston Scott, with 16 carries and 78 yards, and Kenneth Gainwell, with 63 carries, 235 yards, and two touchdowns.

Seahawks Look to Level Their Record

Seattle suffered its fourth straight loss as it was pummeled by the 49ers for the second time in three weeks last Sunday on the road.

The Seahawks enter this week with a 6-7 record on the season and moved into ninth place in the NFC playoff picture, although they have the same record as the Green Bay Packers, who occupy the final wild card spot.

Against San Francisco, Seattle conceded a touchdown just 57 seconds into the game, but rallied to lead 10-7 after the first quarter.

That was the high point for the Seahawks, who were behind 14-10 at halftime, 21-10 in the third quarter and 21-16 after three quarters.

Seattle would get no closer, giving up a touchdown in the first minute of the fourth period with both teams scoreless after that.

The Seahawks were slaughtered 527-324 in total yards, gave up 19 first downs while getting 17 in a game where both teams turned the ball over twice.

Those numbers negated Seattle's time-of-possession advantage of 30:45 to 29:15 in the faceoff.

This season, the Seahawks rank 15th in the league in aerial offense, averaging 232.9 yards per game, and 28th in ground offense, with 92 yards per game on the ground.

Seattle ranks 17th in the league in scoring offense, averaging 21.5 points per game, and a woeful 26th in scoring defense, allowing 24.5 points per game.

Geno Smith has completed 259 of 402 passes for 2,918 yards, with 15 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He has been caught 27 times and ranks third on the team with 92 yards on the ground, along with one touchdown.

Drew Lock is 26-of-43 for 335 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions this season. Kenneth Walker III leads the team on the ground, with 157 carries for 634 yards and six touchdowns this season.
