Pats and Giants Look to Bounce Back

|

The New England Patriots, with a 2-8 record, take on the New York Giants, with a 3-8 mark, in an Interconference showdown on Sunday afternoon at the NFL.

The Patriots lost to the Indianapolis Colts in their previous meeting. The Giants, on the other hand, picked up a win against the Washington Commanders. These teams last met in 2019 in a game the Patriots won 35-14.

Patriots Look to Put Losing Streak Behind Them

The Patriots are looking for their third win of the season. The team has failed to produce offense with consistency and has lost three consecutive games.

They picked up a surprising win against the Buffalo Bills in late October, but have since lost to the Miami Dolphins, the Commanders and, most recently, were two-point favorites in a 10-6 loss to the Colts in Germany last week.

Mac Jones is having a disastrous season. The 25-year-old quarterback has accumulated more than 230 yards per pass just twice all year.

He recorded just 170 yards against the Colts last week and has accumulated 2031 yards per pass with a 10:10 TD to INT ratio on the season. Bill Belichick has stated that he will not reveal the starting quarterback until Sunday.

Bailey Zappe could see action. The 24-year-old quarterback has 104 yards per pass and one interception.

Rhamondre Stevenson has been a recent highlight, rushing for at least 80 yards in two consecutive games. The 25-year-old running back has recorded 482 yards on the ground with an average of 3.8 yards per carry.

The receiving corps is dealing with a key injury, as Kendrick Bourne is out for the remainder of the season.

Demario Douglas is proving to be essential. The 22-year-old receiver caught 94 yards per reception last week and leads the team with 361 yards per reception. New England's offense has been horrible, scoring 17 or fewer points in all but two games this season.

Giants Seek Second Straight Victory

New York is looking for a second straight win. The Giants are having a disappointing season in part due to key injuries on offense.

The team has lost three of its last four games. They were thrashed 49-17 by the Dallas Cowboys in Week 10 and bounced back with a convincing 31-19 road win over the Commanders.

Daniel Jones is on the injured list and backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor is out with a rib injury.

Tommy DeVito has been under center. The 25-year-old undrafted quarterback was solid last week, racking up 246 yards per pass. He now has 506 yards per pass and a 6:3 TD to INT ratio through three games.

Saquon Barkley is producing, rushing for at least 83 yards in three of his last four games. The veteran running back has reached 100 yards once this season and has accumulated 651 yards on the ground for an average of 4.3 yards per carry.

Darius Slayton recorded 82 yards per reception last week. The 26-year-old receiver suffered an arm injury in last week's win and was limited in practice.

Slayton is questionable and leads the team with 419 yards per reception. New York's offense has been a disaster, ranking last in total yards and yards per pass.
