Just because the NFL is in the off-season doesn't mean the news stops. Here are the latest details on the most relevant news.
Okudah to Falcons
The Lions are trading their former No. 3 overall pick, Jeff Okudah to the Atlanta Falcons in exchange for a 2023 fifth-round pick (No. 159), according to sources close to the teams.
The compensation for Okudah, who enters his fourth NFL season in 2023, seems low for a player selected among the top five picks in a draft, but it fits what the corner has produced to this point.
The former Ohio State star has had trouble staying on the field for much of his career, playing in more than nine games just once in his three seasons. He has recorded two interceptions in 25 games in his career. 2023 is shaping up to be a pivotal season for him so the change of scenery could work in his favor.
Kentucky Quarterback Will Levis Visits the Titans and Buccaneers This Week
Kentucky quarterback Will Levis is making the rounds ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft. Following Tuesday's meeting with the Tennessee Titans, Levis will visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Wednesday.
With the No. 11 overall pick, the Titans, a possible trade candidate, have been doing their due diligence on QB prospects with Ryan Tannehill entering the final year of his contract and Malik Willis, last year's third-round pick, struggling as a rookie.
Sitting 19th overall, the Bucs could be in a spot to draft a quarterback if one, like Levis, goes down. Baker Mayfield signed a one-year, low-level contract worth $4 million this offseason. Kyle Trask, a second-round pick in 2021, has attempted just nine passes in his career.
At this point in the process, the teams are doing their due diligence before the club's site visits end on April 19.
Jets Marshal Wilson on the Air
New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson is up in the air due to the Jets' pursuit of Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers' desire to play in New York has been no secret so the Jets and Green Bay Packers find themselves in an awkward position.
Wilson is also in an extremely awkward position. Wilson must wait for the Rodgers situation to be resolved before defining his future. If Rodgers' transfer does not go through, Wilson will be the starter. If in fact the transfer is finalized, it is unlikely that Wilson will be happy to be Rodgers' backup so the Jets will have to find a new home for Wilson.
