Judge's return is still unknown
Aaron Judge has issued a new update on his right leg injury, which has kept him out of action for the Yankees. Since June 3, Judge has been sidelined due to a big toe injury suffered from hitting a wall. As a result, the Yankees have experienced a significant decline in their offensive output, losing 18 games while Judge has been out. Their current standings are now 9.5 games behind the Tampa Bay Rays, emphasizing the influence and importance of his leadership in the team's success.
According to Jon Heyman of the NY Post, the Yankees' leader revealed that he suffered a ligament injury in his toe. While he expressed his desire to rejoin MLB this season, the skipper could not provide assurances as to the timeline of his return. There is a possibility that he could return a week or two after the upcoming break, but that could be too late for the Yankees if they continue to slump.
Paxton continues to move slowly
Heading into Friday's showdown against the Toronto Blue Jays, the Boston Red Sox are optimistic that James Paxton will be able to perform despite his recent struggles. During his previous outing against the White Sox, Paxton only managed to pitch a total of four innings due to knee soreness.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Dodgers announced that shortstop Chris Taylor will be out of action for the next 10 days due to right knee soreness. As a result, he has been placed on the injured list. Dave Roberts informed Fabian Ardaya that Taylor suffered a bone bruise, clarifying that the problem was not serious in his right knee, but he felt uncomfortable.
A week off is all he needs. Triple-A infielder Yonny Hernandez received a roster spot after being promoted due to Paxton's injury.
Jose Altuve of the Houston Astros will undergo an evaluation on Tuesday for a sore right heel. On Sunday, the Venezuelan's absence was notable as he had left Saturday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Altuve was hurt after throwing the bag to first base during the fifth inning of last Saturday's game. Dusty Baker, the manager, stated that he will undergo a re-evaluation after Monday's break.

Cardinals make history
Down four runs in just the first inning, the Cardinals responded with seven unanswered runs in a span of four innings and, along with some exception pitching by Jake Woodford, defeated the Chicago Cubs, 7-5.
This was the first time St. Louis had won a game after trailing 4-0 in the first inning since September 23 of last year when they played the Milwaukee Brewers. It was a great way to complete the trip and the final game of the MLB London Series from London Stadium.
It was also a small consolation for Saturday's performance. The Cardinals started the two-game series by taking a beating, losing Game 1 by a score of 9-1.
