In a night full of emotions and tension, the Atlanta Hawks fell to the Houston Rockets 100-96 at State Farm Arena, in what was their sixth consecutive loss, their worst streak of the season. Despite a strong effort in the final minutes, the Hawks were unable to complete the comeback and were outplayed by the Rockets, who won their fourth straight victory thanks to an outstanding performance by Jalen Green.
Jalen Green Leads Rockets to Victory
The star of the night was undoubtedly Jalen Green. The Rockets' shooting guard scored 25 points, and 12 of them came in the third quarter, a period in which Houston began to establish a considerable lead. Green not only showed his ability to score, but also played a key role in his team's offense, being instrumental in the Rockets taking a 96-80 lead with just over five minutes to play.
Although the Hawks came dangerously close late in the game, the lead Green and his team had built was enough to prevent a collapse. Despite the Hawks' efforts to cut the deficit to just two points in the final minute, the Rockets were able to maintain their lead and seal the victory.
Another player who made a significant impact was Alperen Sengun, who had 18 points and 10 rebounds, contributing to the victory with his presence on both offense and defense. Sengun has been a key player for the Rockets in this stretch of consecutive wins, and his performance did not go unnoticed in this game.
In addition to Green and Sengun, Dillon Brooks and Amen Thompson were also important for Houston, contributing 11 points each. The team's depth was evident as several players played an active role in the win, allowing the Rockets to withstand the Hawks' pressure in the final moments of the game.
Hawks Struggle, But Can't Get Out of Pothole
On the other hand, the Atlanta Hawks continue to struggle in this losing streak. Despite Trae Young's 21 points and 9 assists, the team could not find consistency in their play, especially in three-point shooting.
The Hawks hit only 11 of their 47 attempts from the perimeter, which was one of the main reasons for their defeat. After hitting three of their first seven three-pointers, the team collapsed, making only 8 of their next 40 attempts, showing a clear lack of shooting and offensive ability at key moments.
While Young's effort was remarkable, he could do little to slow the Rockets' momentum, especially when the Houston team jumped on the scoreboard in the third quarter. The Hawks tried to respond in the final period, but the Rockets' lead was too much to handle late in the game.
A Tension-Filled Ending
The final stretch of the game was filled with tension, with the Hawks struggling to cut into the lead the Rockets had built up. Atlanta made a valiant effort, getting within two points with less than a minute to play. However, the Rockets, led by an unstoppable Green and with the help of his teammates, managed to keep their cool and secure the victory, despite the Hawks' desperate attempts to turn the score around.
This game evidenced both shortcomings and positives for both teams. The Rockets are still on the rise, with a winning streak that puts them in a good position, while the Hawks need to make urgent adjustments to get out of their losing streak and improve their performance, especially in long distance shooting.

What's Next for Both Teams
With the loss, the Atlanta Hawks will face an even bigger challenge when they travel to Cleveland to take on the Cavaliers next Thursday. The Hawks will have to find a way to regain form and get out of the slump they find themselves in if they want to stay competitive in the Eastern Conference.
For their part, the Houston Rockets are preparing for an important clash against the Memphis Grizzlies, also on Thursday. This will be another crucial game for them, as they will try to continue their winning streak and consolidate their position in the Western Conference.
The Hawks continue to struggle with a painful losing streak, while the Rockets continue to show signs of growth with key victories, fueled by a great performance from Green and a collective effort that allowed them to secure the win in a tension-filled game.
